Consett Academy surpasses previous years GCSE achievements

Consett Academy is thrilled to announce a resounding success in this year’s GCSE results, surpassing the achievements of the previous year and 2019 results prior to COVID-19, with more students achieving grades 9-5 in English and Maths.

These fantastic results are a testament to the dedication and determination shown by staff and students.

One student, Sam Cuthbertson, achieved 9’s across the board! Well done Sam!

The school’s commitment to providing high quality vocational education has also translated into students achieving outstanding results in Health and Social Care, Art and Philosophy and Religion.

Head Teacher Tom Urwin comments, ‘The achievements of our students this year are a testament to the tireless efforts of both our students and our staff, plus we would like to thank our parents/carers for their continued support. We are so proud of their results and wish all of our students the best of luck with their future.’

This year’s results come just months after the news that Consett Academy are now Ofsted rated Good following a recent inspection. This milestone achievement demonstrates the continued success and positive journey that Consett Academy is on.
