SEND Administrative Assistant
Grade 2 – £18,154 per annum (which reflects actual salary)
37 hrs per week, Term Time + 1 week
Reporting directly to the SENCO, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support to the work of the SEND Department.
Main duties will include maintaining records of pupil exam access arrangements, preparing correspondence and arranging and supporting meetings. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact within the SEND Department for staff, students, parents/carers and outside agencies.
Previous experience in a school environment is desirable but it is more important that you are a strong administrator with excellent organisational skills. Applicants must have excellent IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and be able to quickly develop proficiency in school systems and databases.
Effective communication skills and flexibility are also essential, as is the ability to work effectively to deadlines and as part of a team.
Applicants should hold an NVQ level 2 in Administration and have a good demonstrable level of numeracy and literacy e.g. level 2 qualification in maths and English.
