GCSE Result Celebrations

Consett are delighted to announce the best set of GCSE results since the Academy opened in 2012.

These record results reflect the hard work, dedication and resilience of both students and staff. Our impressive outcomes demonstrate the high standards of teaching at Consett Academy and the determination of our students to succeed.

GCSE Results 2024

Tom Urwin, Head Teacher of Consett Academy, expressed pride in the students’ achievements. “We are thrilled with this year's GCSE Results. Our students have shown exceptional dedication. These results are a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support of our teachers, who go above and beyond to ensure every student reaches their potential. For us to achieve the best results at Consett Academy makes me so proud and is something that this community deserves. I want to thank parents/carers for their support this year as it really has been a team effort.”

Among the many success stories are several students who achieved amazing individual results -

Emily Rasmussen achieved eight grade 9’s and one grade 8.

Phoebe Fairish achieved two grade 9’s, 5 grade 8’s and 1 grade 7.

Hedley Windows achieved five grade 9’s, 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7’s and 1 grade 6.

Consett Academy are also proud of their performance across core subjects, with 55.9% of students achieving 9 – 4 in English and Mathematics. This reflects Consett Academy’s focus on delivering a robust curriculum that prepares students for further education and future careers.

As we celebrate these record results, Consett Academy remain committed to providing an outstanding education for all our students. We are dedicated to continuing to support their academic growth and personal development as they move forward with their educational journeys.
