How to report a Concern

If you would like to share a concern or you are concerned about a child who attends Consett Academy, please contact a member of our Safeguarding Team.

The safeguarding team will respond during their working hours of 8am-4pm during term time. 
If your concern is outside of school term time
In Durham, if you have concerns about a child's welfare, you should contact First Contact through 03000 267 979 or firstcontact@durham.gov.uk

This is the initial point of contact for concerns about children in County Durham. First Contact is a part of Durham County Council's Children and Young People's Services.

If you are looking for more immediate support around Mental Health and Wellbeing call NHS 111 and select the mental health option (2). Available 24/7, you will speak to a mental health professional who can listen to you and help you find the right support.

If you have cause for concern please contact 101 or if in immediate danger contact 999.
