Entry Requirements

To join 6th Form you need to pass GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths at Grade 4 or above AND meet the entry criteria for each subject. 

Subject criteria can be found in our prospectus.

Our Process

After your application has been considered you will be sent a conditional offer of a place. (conditional on achieving the entry and subject criteria.)

Students will be asked to select a total of THREE subjects from the option blocks*

You can only select ONE subject per block.  You will also be asked for a RESERVE subject.

*Some students may be allowed to study four subjects if they have a high grade profile at GCSE

*Option blocks are provisional and could be subject to change

*The Sport National Extended Diploma (worth 3 qualifications) is a separate, stand-alone option

*Further Maths is a separate option, delivered via Newcastle University

September 2025 applicants:

Once the DfE have confirmed their decision about the vocational pathways schools can take from September 2025, we will up-date this page with option blocks and our application form.  We are expecting this to be at the beginning of 2025.
