Examinations
Assessments and examinations have an important role in the process of learning and are used to assess what students have learned with regards to particular subjects.
External Examinations
GCSE, AS and A level examinations 2022 updateThe Government has now provided schools with the following information in support of public examinations in 2022.
Students have access to information from 7th February to help focus their revision for summer GCSE, AS and A level exams, as part of a range of adaptations to maximise fairness following the disruption to learning caused by the pandemic.
We receive regular updates from Ofqual (Ofqual is the authority which regulates and accredits British examination boards offering GCSEs and GCE A Levels) & JCQ (JCQ is the regulatory body that oversees the administration of GCSE and A level exams) and are taking advice from regarding all external examinations. We will keep all student/parents/carers updated with any changes that are made.
The main series for external examinations are November, January and June, however additional vocational and practical exams (BTECs) will take place throughout the academic year.
Students will receive a personalised copy of their timetable as soon as this information is available.
I would like to thank you for your continued support in this very important year for your child and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Year Manager.
Progress Checker Calendar
At Consett Academy we check students learning on a regular basis so teachers are able to praise students for the progress they have made and work with students to close any gaps in their knowledge and skills. Progress check calendars show you when your child will be assessed and what they should be revising. Please be aware that these dates may be subject to change.
